How scoring works here

Conciseness is weighted highest. Every sentence should carry information. Vague phrases like "some progress" or "working on stuff" get flagged immediately.

Typical workflow

  1. Note what your update is about (a project, a sprint, a team meeting)
  2. Write your update: what you did, what's next, any blockers
  3. Coach it — cut anything the team doesn't need to hear
  4. Tighten it — can you say this in 60 seconds instead of 90?
  5. Mark as Prepared and deliver it without filler

What makes a great update

  • Leads with the most important information
  • Names specifics — dates, metrics, names — not vague generalities
  • Separates status from requests clearly
  • Respects everyone's time by being brief

Timer zones

≤ 90s — on target
91–120s — slightly over
> 120s — needs trimming
