Live Capture
Record audio in real time, get it transcribed, and turn it into structured study material.
~3 minutes to learnWhat is Live Capture?
Live Capture lets you record audio — a talk, a study session, a lecture — and have it automatically transcribed and broken into sections you can comment on. It works from both the subjects list (creates a new subject) and from inside a subject (adds to the existing one).
Start a capture
Tap the Live Capture button (microphone icon). You'll see a setup screen where you can choose a template, set the source language, and optionally enable translation.
Requires an internet connection for real-time transcription.
Record and take notes
Press record and speak or listen. The transcript appears in real time. You can add timestamped notes during the session — tap the note button to mark important moments.
Review and save
When you stop recording, you'll see the full transcript organized into sections (if AI structuring is enabled). Give it a title, review the sections, and tap Save.
Each section becomes a paragraph entry you can comment on, with the transcript stored as a reference.
Where to find Live Capture

Tips
- Session recovery — if you accidentally close the page, Comment Coach can recover your in-progress session.
- Translation — enable auto-translation to get a bilingual transcript for language practice.
- Templates — save your preferred settings as a template for quick setup next time.
