Import an EPUB on iPhone

Find the file, save it to your phone, and load it into Comment Coach — three taps once you know where they are.

~3 minutes
01

Find the EPUB on the publisher's website

Open Safari on your iPhone and go to the publisher's website. Navigate to the page where the EPUB file is available for download. Look for a download link or button — it usually says "EPUB" or shows a file icon.

If the publisher offers several formats (PDF, EPUB, MOBI), choose EPUB. It is the format Comment Coach reads.
02

Download and save to Files

Tap the download link. Safari shows a small download arrow ↓ in the address bar. When it finishes:

  1. Tap the ↓ arrow in the address bar (or the Aa menu, then Downloads).
  2. Tap the downloaded file name. iOS opens a preview or asks what to do.
  3. If you see a Share button (the square with an arrow), tap it and choose Save to Files.
  4. Pick a folder — On My iPhone is the simplest. Tap Save.
Some publishers send the file as an email attachment or a link inside an app. The same rule: tap the file, tap Share, choose Save to Files.
03

Open Comment Coach and add the source

Go to Daily Reflection in Comment Coach. Then:

  1. Tap the ⋮ menu (three dots) at the top right.
  2. Choose Add a source.
  3. The file picker opens. Tap Browse at the bottom if you do not see your folders.
  4. Navigate to the folder you saved the EPUB in (step 02) and tap the file.

Comment Coach reads the file, finds the daily entries by date, and switches to it. Tomorrow's text is already there.

04

You are done

The imported source appears alongside Wisdom and Scriptures in the source picker. Switch between them any time. The file stays on your device, in browser storage — it is never uploaded.

To add the same book in a second language, repeat these steps with the other-language EPUB. Comment Coach pairs them automatically and you get the bilingual view.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't find the file in the picker? Tap Browse at the bottom of the picker, then On My iPhone. The file is in the folder you chose in step 02.
  • The file opens in Books instead of downloading? Long-press the download link in Safari, choose Download Linked File, and then follow step 02.
  • "Format not recognised"? The file may be a PDF or a ZIP. Comment Coach needs the .epub file itself.
