Sync & Transfer Your Library
Keep your Bibles and publications in sync across all your devices.
~2 minutesDevice Sync (recommended)
The smartest way to keep your devices in sync. Both devices compare their libraries and only transfer what's missing — in both directions. No need to re-transfer resources you already have.
Start a sync session on Device A
Go to My Library → tap Sync → tap Start Sync Session.
You'll see a 6-digit code and a QR code. Keep this screen open.
Join from Device B
On your other device, go to My Library → tap Sync → enter the 6-digit code and tap Join.
Or scan the QR code with your phone's camera — it opens the app and connects automatically.
Review and sync
Both devices show a comparison: what's new on the other device, what you can send, and what you already share. Tap Sync All to transfer everything, or Customize to pick specific items.
Resources you already have are automatically skipped. Only new items transfer.
How Device Sync Works
- The app tries a direct device-to-device connection first (fastest). If that's not possible on your network, it automatically routes through our server instead
- Either way, your data is encrypted end-to-end — we can never read it
- Sync sessions expire after 5 minutes. If it expires, just start a new one
- Keep both devices on the Library page during sync — don't lock the screen or switch apps
- After syncing, your Library page shows "Last synced with [device name]" so you know it worked
Alternative: QR Code Transfer
A simpler one-way transfer. Your sending device packs its entire library into an encrypted bundle, and the receiving device imports it. Best when you want to copy everything at once.
Send from your desktop
Go to My Library → tap Transfer → tap Send to My Phone (QR).
The app encrypts your library and shows a QR code. This may take a few seconds for large libraries.
Scan on your phone
Point your phone's camera at the QR code. It opens Comment Coach and starts the import automatically.
Review and import
Your phone shows which resources are new and which you already have. Tap Import to add the new ones.
Alternative: File Transfer (.ccbundle)
For offline transfers or when QR scanning isn't convenient. Download an encrypted file and move it to your other device manually.
Download the bundle
Go to My Library → tap Transfer → tap Download .ccbundle File.
The file is encrypted and tied to your account. It expires after 30 days.
Move the file to your other device
Send it via AirDrop, email, USB drive, or any cloud storage. The file is encrypted, so it's safe to transfer through any channel.
Import on the other device
On the receiving device, go to My Library → tap Transfer → tap Load from Another Device and select the .ccbundle file.
FAQ
Which method should I use?
Device Sync is best for most people. It's two-way, only transfers what's needed, and works between any two devices. Use QR Transfer or File Transfer if you only need a one-way copy or if you want to keep a backup file.
Does the server see my data?
No. All transfers are encrypted end-to-end. With Device Sync, data is encrypted in transit even when routed through the server. With QR Transfer, the server holds encrypted bytes temporarily (up to 1 hour) but cannot read them. With File Transfer, nothing touches the server.
Can I share my library with someone else?
No. All sync and transfer methods require both devices to be logged into the same account. This protects copyrighted materials from redistribution.
Do I need to be on the same WiFi network?
No. Device Sync works across any network — home WiFi, cellular, or different locations entirely. If a direct connection isn't possible, the app automatically routes through our server (encrypted).
What about my comments and coaching data?
Those sync automatically through your account — you don't need to transfer them. Just log in on the new device and everything appears.
Can I reset my sync key?
Yes. Go to Settings → scroll to Resource Library → expand Sync Key → tap Reset Sync Key. This invalidates any pending transfers.
