Import Bibles, magazines, and publications into your personal library for offline study.

What is the Resource Library?

The Resource Library is your personal collection of study materials stored directly on your device. Files you import stay local — they are never uploaded to the server. This keeps copyrighted materials private while giving you instant offline access.

Supported formats

  • EPUB — publications from jw.org and standard e-books
  • MySword / MyBible — Bible database files (.mybible, .bbl.mybible)
  • e-Sword — Bible database files (.bblx, .bbli)
  • JSON — Bible data in JSON format
  • HTML / TXT — articles and plain text documents
You don't need to tell Comment Coach which format — just drop the file and it auto-detects the type.

How to import

Open Your Library

Go to My Library from the profile menu or navigation bar.

Drop or browse for a file

Drag a file onto the import zone, or click Browse files to pick one from your device. The app analyzes the file and shows what it found — title, type, language, and format.

Confirm and import

Review the detection result and click Import. The file is parsed and stored in your browser's local storage. For large Bibles, this may take a few seconds.

If you import the same file twice, the duplicate is automatically skipped.

Browse and study

Your imported resources appear in the Library sidebar on the dashboard. Click a resource to browse its contents — chapters, articles, or sections. From there, you can start studying and preparing comments.

Default Bibles

Comment Coach comes with free Bibles available for one-click installation — no file needed. Look for the Available Bibles section and click Install. You can also browse the Bible Catalog for 500+ translations.

Managing resources

To remove a resource, click Remove next to it in your Library. This deletes it from your device only — the original file is unaffected. You can always re-import it.

The storage bar shows how much local space your library uses. Most Bibles are 1-5 MB each.

Tips

  • Import both an English and a Spanish Bible for bilingual study workflows
  • EPUB files from jw.org are automatically detected and parsed with full article structure
  • Scripture citations — when an EPUB article includes embedded verse footnotes, they are automatically extracted during import. You'll see cited scriptures in the Paragraph Workspace when preparing comments
  • Resources stay on your device even when offline — no internet needed to look up verses

FAQ

Are my imported files uploaded to the server?

No. Files are parsed and stored entirely in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). The server never sees the content.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Your imported resources will be removed. You can re-import them from the original files, or use Library Transfer to restore from another device.

Is there a size limit?

Browser storage limits vary (typically 1-50 GB per site). The storage bar in your Library shows your current usage.
